We all have little rituals and "go-to's” that are special to us. These activities may keep us grounded, lift our mood, maintain physical health or simply be a little bit of a treat once in a while.
When life is busy, stressful or uncertain, maintaining our rituals and doing our favourite things can keep us ‘fit’ - not just physically but mentally as well.
Here at Nutrient Rescue we thought we’d ask our staff what their favourite health or wellness related rituals or favourite things were, and share it with you. We also thought this would be a great way to introduce you to some of team who are the force behind Nutrient Rescue.
We’d love to hear back from our Shotsters about whether you have a favoured ritual or thing you love to do. Click here to let us know.

When I need time to centre myself and relax, I treat myself to a facial at Total Body Concept. I also visit the Riccarton Farmers Market most Saturdays for some Posh Porridge – yum. My other favourite is getting inspired and cooking up a storm with my favourite cookbooks; Supergood by Chelsea Winter, Vegeful by Nadia Lim, and Alex's Kitchen Story recipes.

I love my Red Shots mixed with hot water and some honey. We spend a lot of time up the mountain skiing, and I find this warms me up and gives me energy to keep going after lunch. My favourite part is looking out my window at work and gazing at the snow-covered mountains imagining myself up there with my Red Shot drink that weekend.

Nothing beats a good session at the gym to improve your physical health, but also clear out your mind. I also love walking. A couple of my favourites around Christchurch are Rapaki and Godley Head. It’s true what they say – exercise makes you feel good.

One of my passions in life is singing. I sing as often as I can as it lifts my soul. I take professional singing classes at Sole Music Academy so I spend time practicing at any time of the day, but I’ve found that singing whatever catches you that day is a sure way to bring happiness and joy into your life.

I’m an avid gardener. In Spring and Summer I love being in the open air smelling all the fragrant flowers around me. I also have the same breakfast every morning. Not only is it healthy and keeps me full till lunch time, it's also packed full of probiotics, protein and fruit. All that “good stuff” gives my skin an extra boost as well.
- Handful of mixed nuts (alternatively you can find paleo granola in your supermarket)
- Half a cup of Greek yogurt
- Chopped fruit (I use berries in summer and banana in winter)
Whether your favourite things are big or small, make sure you always make time for them.
